Vivup, a UK leading employee benefits provider specialising in health and wellbeing, are once again offering free mental health support to NHS employees as a show of appreciation for those on the front line in the battle against Covid-19.

The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) currently supports over 1,000,000 employees and is led by two former NHS Heads of Health and Wellbeing, with NHS policy and process engrained within the service. The comprehensive programme includes a 24/7, 365 telephone counselling helpline, online practical mental health advice, self-help workbooks, debt advice, brain and spine helpline, domestic abuse resources and app plus the free mental fitness app, MyMindPal®.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has launched the EAP to support its 12,000 staff with their mental health needs during this particularly difficult time.
Dr Clare Wright, CTM Strategic Lead for Wellbeing, said: “We have been hugely impressed with the levels of professionalism and service provided by Vivup. They are already providing excellent wellbeing support to our staff over these difficult weeks and months. Vivup has also included free Lifestyle Savings on the platform which offers valuable additional support to staff where extra help is needed regarding personal finances and budgeting.”

During the first lockdown, Vivup provided free mental health support to over 50 NHS and Public Sector organisations. Over 200,000 staff had vital access to help, support and counselling. Many of these organisations are still continuing to offer this service at no cost; for example, the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Sarah Brown, Director of Workforce for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, explained: “We were overwhelmed with the offer from Vivup to give us helpful and practical support at this time of great uncertainty. There are no strings attached, and they also communicate to all our staff on our behalf about the service for free, so we can ensure everyone is aware and they know how to access the helpline.”

Simon Moyle, Commercial and Strategy Director for Vivup, commented: “We know that the country’s public sector workers are under even greater strain than in the spring and resilience is running low – at work and at home. So we will once again extend this offer of free mental health support to all public sector organisations over the next three months. It is our chance to give something back and we believe supporting the mental health of our key workers is as important as their physical health.”

Vivup are offering this free mental health support to all public sector organisations. If any organisation is interested they need to sign up by 31st March 2021 to take advantage.
